Congratulations Simon Wood, it took great dedication and creativity... Just like PrintWaiter
“Incredible Talent” Simon Wood wins Masterchef 2015.
What an amazing final this year’s Masterchef was; 3 hugely talented amateurs cooking their socks off, 3 phenomenal courses, 3 pressurised hours and hardly any errors at all. Congratulations and celebrations to Simon Wood, 38 of Chadderton, Manchester as he became the first Northern Masterchef winner last week, now the world is yours.
Speaking after he was announced the winner, Mr Wood said: "It's everything I wanted it to be, and more besides." A bit like Print Waiter Simon, in fact, just like Print Waiter.
Also huge congratulations to the other two fine competitors Tony Rodd and Emma Spitzer. You were both fantastic, your skills and your imaginative dishes did yourselves and the amateur cooking world proud. Well done, very good work indeed.
Greg Wallace, in his discussions with Torode as they decided the winner in Friday's programme, said Mr Wood had got "better and better" during the competition and he had "no doubt" he would have a professional career in food.
So Simon, when you open your first restaurant in Manchester and you are in the position to order winning menus and complementary hospitality print, you know where to come, Simon. We know what it takes to stay at the top year after year.
